Worked on my kitchen all day yesterday so I decided to take Molly for a hike today and just have fun. We went to Mount Falcon Park and hiked about 6 miles. We found 3 Geocaches (GCT1CN) Mt. Falcon Cache, (GCPXTT) Mountain Monkey Cache, and (GCR0M6) THE BIG SEVEN-0. Unfortunately, the near gale winds were hitting us in the face as we hiked up the 1160 ft mountain to the truck, making things interesting to say the least. I can always tell when Molly has had a good time hiking by the way she sleeps. Today she had a good time!

Added a page highlighting the Mountain Peaks I have climbed. I'm sure I have climbed others but their names escape me for now. I'll add them as I remember them. Find the page HERE.

My Handheld GPSr unit is only part of the location system I use to find Geocaches. Another part of the system is the actual Satellites positioned above the earth. As I endeavor to learn more about this technology, I have found that manufacturers of satellites, Government agency's, and the Military have different ways of referring to a particular satellite. This makes searching for information difficult at best. So, I set out to make a cross reference chart that would show the many designations for each of the satellites in the GPS system. Check out my chart HERE.

I worked most of yesterday on my kitchen (updating it a bit), so today, Molly and I had to get out and play. Our first stop was Chatfield Park for a 3 mile walk in the freshly fallen snow. Then we visited Harriman Lake for the first time. We found 2 Geocaches and walked around that lake adding another 1.5 miles to the total for the day. Caches found: (GCN66H) Yahtzee and (GCN64G) Aspen. Great fun in the snow!

I've mentioned this before but must say again, Molly is an impressive hunter. This evening, while on a walk, Molly was in the hunting mode. She sniffed the ground at every clump of grass, jumped at every noise, and checked every hole. This behavior can be frustrating for me as our walk can slow to a crawl, but before long she came up with a prize. Some might think it's gross, but I think it's important for her to stay sharp and "Be all she can be" to steel a phrase. I think it's great fun to watch.

Molly and I visited the Flying J Ranch Park for the first time today. We hiked about 4.2 miles of wonderful pine forest. I really enjoyed myself today. Normally I like moderate to hard hikes, but sometimes an easy hike fits the bill. We also found (GCKQ3R) Flying Frog Ranch. I have been finding a lot of small and micro caches lately; I have a TB I need to drop off soon, so I guess I should look for a Geocache with a regular sized container. ;-)
